It’s National Cancer Survivors Month!

Good news: June is National Cancer Survivors Month! Each June, we get the opportunity to celebrate the nearly 18 million cancer survivors across the United States.

Not only does this give us the chance to celebrate the cancer survivors in our life, but serves as a reminder to come together to raise awareness and support those in your communities who are suffering from cancer.

Here are some ways YOU can celebrate Cancer Survivors Month:

Recognize and honor the people in your life who have been faced with cancer in any capacity.

A cancer diagnosis is fundamentally life changing. During cancer awareness month you can recognize the people in your life that have a relationship with cancer, whether that means celebrating with a survivor or sharing fond memories of a lost friend, it is important to acknowledge everyone who has been affected by cancer in all stages and forms.

Learn more about cancer and cancer survivorship.

There are so many resources available for those wanting to learn more about cancer. You can test your knowledge of cancer survivorship by taking the American Association for Cancer Research’s Cancer Survivors Quiz. You can also subscribe to newsletters, follow accounts on social, and dive into online materials to learn more.

Raise awareness about cancer survivorship.

Post your or your loved ones stories online and help spread the good news! Hearing about others who have faced similar challenges brings the community together and helps us become stronger. Use #CancerSurvivorsMonth and #CelebrateSurvivorship to connect with other survivors or others who are battling.

Donate to an organization who’s mission is cancer focused.

There are hundreds of organizations that focus on raising money and awareness for cancer holistically, and for more specific cancers (like us!). Find an organization that aligns with your values and consider donating to further their imapact. At YelloWill, we hope our mission resonates with you. If it does, we would love if you would consider donating or registering for our community focused event to help raise money and awareness.

Thank you for all that you do to celebrate the survivors and those currently battling in your life! We can’t wait to hear your stories.

If you would like to share your story for an opportunity to be featured on our blog or social media, please DM us on instagram @YelloWill_Foundation
